To the
2007 - 2008 Season!

Thank you for your commitment to Appraise at our California Creativity Silicon Valley Regional Tournament this year! Our teams appreciate you volunteering your time and energy to make their Celebration of Creativity special. Many teams are already working hard to create their Challenge solutions, and they look forward to sharing them with you.

If you have never been an Appraiser before, don’t worry! The Silicon Valley Regional Challenge Masters and Trainers will teach you everything you need to know at the training sessions, and you will have a wonderful time!

Appraiser Training will be on two Saturday mornings. We will cover General Information about Destination ImagiNation® and Appraiser Roles on Saturday, February 2, and we will cover Regional and Challenge Specific Information on Saturday, February 9. In the past, Appraisers expressed concern about the tremendous amount of information they were given to comprehend in one day. This two day format breaks the material down into two sections, so we do not inundate you with too much information at once, and can have more time for hands-on learning.

In order for us to use our time together more efficiently, please take time to read the Rules of the Road, Previews of the 2006-07 Destination ImagiNation® Team Challenges and the Appraiser Team Roles documents before you come to training. These documents can be found at www.californiacreativity.org/region/sv/appraisers.

You will have to register as an Appraiser and log-in before you access the Rule of the Road in the appraisers files section at http://www.caldi.org/di/role/appraiser .

Did your account disappear?

On Nov 14, 2008, the webmaster consolidated duplicate accounts. Your information should be retained in your "other" account. If you cannot remember your other userid, try creating a new account -- when you enter the same first and last name and submit, you'll likely be prompted with the user name for the other account. I hope there are no hiccups -- let me know if there's trouble.

Keeping one account per person helps us keep an accurate count of the various tournament roles.

Note: this is not your shopdi.org or idodi.org user account. It is not a membership number. People have accounts, not teams.

This site requires users to log in to access all of its features: this column goes away after you log in.

If you are a first-time visitor, click on "Create new account" just below the Log in button above to open up new pages to register as a user. You will need to provide a valid email address, since your initial password is emailed to you at that address. When you receive that email, log in to your account. One of the first things you can do is set your password to something you can remember.

School Email Addresses: The webmaster has observed that several folks do not receive their password email -- so far they're all folks with school email addresses. If this happens to you, send a message to the webmaster with the user name you're registering and the password you want, and the webmaster will set it for you. (You can change it later). My reply email to you that tells you I've set it for you may also not get through: Ugh!

If you are a returning visitor but cannot remember your password or username, click on "Request new password" and, on the new page presented, enter either the Username or email address you used when registering. A one-time login link will be created and emailed to you. Your password is not changed (to prevent hacker mischief). When you log in with the link, set your password to something you can remember.

Accounts set up here are completely independent from those maintained at Destination ImagiNation Headquarters. If you are a membership coordinator, it would be helpful to create your account here with the same email address you use at www.shopdi.org, so we can more easily see that you are the same person.
